Powerloom is on the cusp of transforming Web3's data layer forever. After years of building and battle-testing with Pooler, we're launching the Blockchain Data Service (BDS) - the first production data market without static limitations on trackable data sources.
With 6000+ nodes in the Powerloom network primed to deliver subsecond DeFi insights and earning rewards for accuracy, BDS breaks the mold of fixed data feeds by letting markets dynamically expand to cover any protocol, any chain, any metric - all verifiable on decentralized storage protocols like IPFS. This further bolsters the $POWER token ecosystem and sets the stage for trustless Web3 apps.
Why BDS Now? Tackling Web3's Data Challenges Head-On
Web3 promises decentralization, but most data providers still operate like traditional SaaS - centralized APIs serving stale or even worse, inaccurate indexes. Moreover, indexers simply listen for blockchain events tied to specific trading pairs, updating prices only when a trade occurs on that pair. Otherwise, the chart flatlines.
This works fine for stablecoin pairs, but for anything pegged to a volatile asset - like */WETH pairs - it's wildly inaccurate. Even if no trades happen on the pair for 100 blocks, ETH's price is fluctuating constantly, which should ripple through to the token's USD value. Without real-time adjustments, users get stale, misleading insights.
We've built BDS to overcome these hurdles, evolving from stable foundations to a fully decentralized powerhouse:
